"Treacherous Curtain of Deafness"

Woodward shares that every leader has a supporting organization designed to protect them. They don't want negative information coming out. Woodward says this is called "the treacherous curtain of deafness."

He also explains the importance of protecting sources. If a source committed crimes, Woodward explains that he has no extrajudicial magic to make them disappear. And a source might say, "this is confidential and cannot be shared." 

You want to know the opening day lineup. So do I. But other than consulting my crystal ball, OUIJA board, and tarot cards, I don't know. We can speculate, but speculation is not truth. 

Cinema informs lessons about competition. 

Truth simplifies and clarifies. Getting and protecting sources removes the treacherous curtain. Even then, a journalist weighs the impact of the truth versus silence. 

No MVB secrets get revealed here. Nor is there disinformation. There's a quote from Justified, "Repeating a lie don't make it so."
