The Big Picture: Write Your Own Story

All opinions expressed in the blog are solely mine.

Newly minted MVB teams write their narrative today with their first practices as a team. Transform individual skills into collective excellence.

Not a starter? Make the team better by making everyone around you better. Positions are open. Who's the opposite (right side)? Who's the designated server? Are the outside hitter positions carved on stone tablets?

1) Be a great teammate.

2) Show up every day; take up space.

3) Demonstrate competitive character daily.

Excel as a student-athlete by thinking and communicating well. "Do your homework" not to finish but to be great.

Read a lot.

Invest time 'thinking'. Can I do this better?

Write better by studying great writers - Hemingway, Dickens, Shakespeare - including great women authors like Margaret Atwood.

Academic excellence is another tradition of MVB, producing so many elite students.

Athletes are creators, curators of excellence. "How you do anything is how you do everything."
