When someone says, "I have all the answers," they're not being honest with you or themselves.
Golden State coach Steve Kerr leads and reads. His father Malcolm was a professor of Middle Eastern studies who was murdered by terrorists in Lebanon.
Before Kerr took his coaching job, he worked as a broadcaster and spent several years compiling ideas about leadership, communication, and basketball. He organized a lot of answers, yet took advice from a video coordinator during The Finals with lineup changes that helped lead his team to an NBA championship. He followed his own advice, "good ideas can come from anywhere."
Steve Kerr said, "You gain more respect as a leader when you admit you don’t know everything."
