Don't know much about NASCAR. The driver matters, but nobody sends a base model car with bad tires, and "regular" gas to compete. The average NASCAR car is worth between 400,000 and 500,000 dollars.
Take care of yourself with the same investment and consistency. You don't want a 'mechanical failure' like fatigue, leg cramps, or exhaustion to beat you.
- FATIGUE not THIRST is the consequence of dehydration.
- Improved sleep raises performance.
- Poor nutrition results in delayed and incomplete recovery.
If your 17 YO athlete isn’t willing to wake up 15-min earlier to grab their water, some protein and carbs for breakfast let alone put together some extra backpack snacks for their day they really don’t care about getting stronger or improving as an athlete.

Seriously, if you…
You wouldn't give less than your best on the court. Do the same off of it.
