"J-Mac" Jill MacInnes earned All-State honors as a libero and her 2012 match versus Westborough was phenomenal. Her bruises were legendary as the libero sacrifices the body.
It's not a "one size fits all" position as Alyssa DiRaffaele was a tall libero.
Recently, The Boston Globe profiled AA shortstop Marcelo Mayer. He said that spectacular plays are great but making routine plays serves your team best. That's true for liberos, too.
Who will be the libero for MVB 24? I don't know among the top defenders. It remains to be determined based on tryouts and early season play. You can be sure that whoever it is, they'll be solid.
