Before each game as you line up on the endline, close your eyes and take a moment to remember the people who helped you.
We hear the term "self-made person." That is never the truth. Many people are fortunate to have family who helped them. Beyond family there is your community. Maybe you had an injury that a physical therapist helped with recovery. That doesn't mean that you didn't work. But you had help.
Shawn Achor recommends the "21-day Gratitude Challenge." Each night, write down three things for which you are grateful. After three weeks, review your list of 63...that's a lot for which to be grateful.
"Gratitude makes happiness," not the other way around.
Coach Dick Bennett and others have distributed handouts with what I call - PUSH - T initiatives.
P - Passion (or purpose), why you do what you do.
U - Unity, accomplish more together.
S - Servant leadership...achievement is born from service.
H - Humility - Thinking less about yourself doesn't mean thinking less of yourself.
T - Thankfulness - want what you have. Appreciate what you have.
