What kind of person, student, athlete do you want to become? James Clear, author of Atomic Habits teaches that habits are votes for whom we want to become.
- Choose exercise if you want strength and conditioning.
- Choose enough sleep (ideally eight hours) to perform your best.
- Hydrate and eat better to become healthier.
- Study more to improve your knowledge and grades.
- Give more effort to excel. "Do five more." Read five more pages, lift five more minutes, make five more calls in business.
- Develop a morning routine. "Win the morning, win the day."
Carve out "thinking time." What do I need now to diagnose and solve this issue in life?
Three key points on the highway to success:
1) Think deliberate practice. Practice with focus and attention to detail.
2) Be intentional. Have a goal every time you step in the classroom, the weight room, or the volleyball court.
3) Edit. If you miss your exit, get off the highway and back on track. "Do more of what works and less of what doesn't.
