Don't manage expectations. A major pet peeve of coaches is hearing players say, "that's okay" or "don't worry about it" after a bad play. Avoiding repeat errors is a hallmark of excellent teams.
You saw the 2011 team dominate the final set against Lincoln-Sudbury, enough that the never played MVB again. You recently had the chance to review the 2012 team Sectional Final. In 2005, the team was so upset at an upper division ML team that they delivered a 25-3 opening set thrashing.
Your goal should be excellence on every point. Yes, it's impossible but worth the effort.
