Formula Won

All opinions expressed in the blog are mine.

Sacrifice means to delay what we want to do now, so that we can do what we want later. That applies at home, school or work, and sports.

"Your grades are yours." That's the same as Kevin Eastman saying, "you own your paycheck." The work you apply in every setting gets 'paid' on a delayed schedule.

Wouldn't you like to have tips to perform better? Or if you had access to a way to get "the answers to the test," would you not use it?

The Buffett-Munger partnership at Berkshire Hathaway helped them achieve spectacular results by doing the work

Excerpts:

Warren Buffett says, “I just sit in my office and read all day.”

“The best thing a human being can do is to help another human being know more.”
— Charlie Munger
Become a learning Machine
“Go to bed smarter than when you woke up.”— Charlie Munger
"You need to be critical and always thinking. You need to do the mental work required to hold an opinion."
“We don’t read other people’s opinions. We want to get the facts, and then think.”
They talk about "opportunity cost." If you spend an hour on social media or texting, you didn't invest that time in study, or working on your platform skills, attack footwork, or athleticism.
Coaches are like Santa Claus. When tryouts roll around in August, they see who's been naughty or nice.
Key points:
  • Read
  • Get the facts. Think about them.
  • Be aware of opportunity cost.
  • Do the mental work.
  • Go to bed smarter every day.
