Have clear expectations about practice. Think of examples or stories where you or other players completed these obligations.
Before the 2020 season, Coach Scott Celli asked me about a player I coached as a person, teammate, and athlete. I said that she was an excellent athlete, hard worker, and great teammate. She made the team and helped Melrose to a pair of sectional titles and earned All-State and All-Scholastic honors. Everyone knows Sadie Jaggers.
1) Never cheat the drill.
2) Be the hardest worker at practice.
3) "Always do your best."
4) Leave your comfort zone.
5) Support and mentor younger players.
