Jay Bilas' book, Toughness is a book that served as team reading. Bilas provides over 30 'rules' that apply for tough players. One is "play so hard that your coach has to take you out."
User fees complicate coaching because some actually refer to them as "pay to play." More precisely, they represent pay for participation.
As players, "control what you can control." Yes, there are extenuating circumstances - cost, transportation, needing to have a job. Only you decide how much time and effort you have for strength and conditioning, skills, and resilience (e.g. mindfulness and visualization).
If you're one of the top six players situationally (within rotations), you earn opportunities to prove that you belong. When you earn Coach Scott Celli's trust, you'll be on the floor during crunch time, whether you are a senior or a freshman. "This is not a union job."
Lagniappe. Repost. A deep playoff run requires better serve, serve receive, and double blocking this season. "Keep the ball up" on defense.
