Melrose (4-1) continued its Middlesex League schedule with a stiff road challenge in the Burlington Lady Devils (6-1). The winner emerges as the favorite in the Middlesex League Freedom Division. And Melrose captured the win 19-25, 25-11, 25-19, 25-23.
The win keeps Melrose (5-1) undefeated in the Freedom Division and gives Burlington its first Freedom Division loss.
Melrose stepped up with the back row containing Burlington's high octane service game and holding down Burlington's hitters with excellent blocking from the front row.
Full statistics will follow but Sophomore Sabine Wenzel delivered seven blocks and double digit kills.
