Be great at intangibles (things you can't measure or touch).
Make teammates better.
- Communicate.
- Compete in practice.
Be a mentor.
- Coach up younger players.
- Lead by example.
Encourage everyone.
- "Your joy is my joy."
- Be a credit giver not a credit hog.
Radiate positive energy.
- Be a 'lightbulb'.
- Energize yourself and others.
Give the game what it needs.
- A setter might need more attacks or better blocking.
- An outside might need to defend more and attack less.
Find ways to make a difference.
Lagniappe. Topspin can create hard-to-defend attacks and keep balls in.
