Sahil Bloom recently wrote about control an “Amor Fati,” translated to the “love of one’s fate.”
That doesn’t mean abandoning hope of better outcomes.
In fact, he writes:
“You are in control. Of everything. It's all on you. Nobody is coming to save you. But you are entirely capable of figuring it out. Of squeezing everything you want out of this life. You are at the wheel. Never let go.”
Ambitious teams don’t worry about playoff venues or opponents. But they should concern themselves with “what’s inside their boat.” They control their planning, preparation, attitude, and in-game decisions.
Coaches look to find opportunities for everyone, especially focused, hardworking players.
Do the work and it limits regrets. “We did what we could.”
