Anybody who fancies Central a cakewalk Monday at 2:30 is sorely mistaken.

This doesn't include the 3-2 Melrose win in the 2005 quarterfinals over a tremendous team, the next best faced that season except Medfield. It doesn't highlight two sectional titles lost at Andover when CC was a D2 powerhouse and Melrose had The Queen, Hannah Brickley.
Central has figuratively been kryptonite for Melrose with height, athleticism, and experience playing in the Merrimack Valley Conference.
Their record is deceptive. They've lost to number 2 and 3 in the MIAA D1 rankings and defeated Chelmsford, ranked 20th in D1. They play mostly a Division 1 schedule.
