Sixth seed Melrose (18-4) travels to three seed Duxbury (21-0) in a state quarterfinal. Three of Melrose's losses came to the top seeds in Division 1, 2, and 5 (Newton North, Westborough, Frontier).
The two teams have never met.
Melrose arrives off a 3-1 win over eleven seed Billerica and Duxbury topped fourteen seed Amherst-Pelham.
Melrose carries a ten game win streak and Duxbury is undefeated this season. They have no common opponents.
Melrose won the Middlesex League and Duxbury won the Patriot League.
Melrose went 48-6 in league sets and Duxbury went 48-7.
