"What did you see?"
Rather than criticize a player for not making a better choice, educate her by sharing video and showing what alternatives existed and ranking them.
Video is the Truth Machine. Returning players have a lot of game video to study. Take advantage.
Remember the context of game play:
- Initial setup
- Player movement
- Ball movement
- The scoring moment
How might we organize film study?
- Study team play
- Study individual players
- Study your individual video
- Anson Dorrance (UNC Soccer) shows only positive video
- Doc Rivers (NBA Coach) advises no more than 13 clips/session
- Study an aspect of your game (e.g. serving, blocking, hitting)
