Playoff Bound

Yesterday's win, the tenth of the season, marks the 23rd consecutive season of Melrose qualifying for the postseason.

Melrose leads the Middlesex League with a 10-0 slate and had its best week of the season with a pair of wins over Liberty Division opponents.

Ruth Breen leads the team in assists with over 300, sparking an improving offense.

Gia Vlajkovic is one of three Melrose attackers with over 100 kills.

Three players have over 100 service points and Leah Fowke has come on strong recently from the service line.

Libero Emma Desmond leads the team in digs.

Remaining schedule:

Melrose Notes: The final third of the season offers teams the ability to come together and play their best volleyball headed to the postseason.

Collaboration - teams move as one as though on a string, filling holes to limit opponent attack points

Communication - some players are louder than others. Think ELO as communication must be EARLY LOUD and OFTEN

Consistency - the best teams limit mistakes.

Confidence - "confidence comes from proven success"

Depth - reserve players must be able to step in and step up over the course of the long season and playoffs

Aggression - the most aggressive teams tend to be the most successful teams. Focus on having an attack mentality from the opening serve.

Momentum - play with growing belief, execution, and 'swagger'

"Believe and execute."
