One of the most important words in coaching is "trust." When the game is on the line, coaches put trusted players on the field, court, or ice. That doesn't require perfection; that doesn't exist.
Earn trust at practice through attention, coachability (doing what the coach asks to the best of your ability), effort, and critically - sound decision-making.
There are few better feelings than hearing your coaches tell you individually, "I believe in you." What matters even more becomes internalizing, believing in yourself and playing that way.
