Tryouts

I can't comment from any experience about volleyball tryouts, so I'm sharing a video from Coach Martin.

In basketball, we'd assess:

  • Core skills
  • Drill performance
  • Scrimmaging
  • Assess "competitive character"
  • Assess size, athleticism
  • Look for intangibles (enthusiasm, interaction with teammates) to speculate at potential 


Coach Scott Celli and his staff have vast experience at all aspects of recruiting within the community, tryouts, team selection, player and team development. As a coach, I enjoy hearing other coaches' approaches.
