Selling Stories

Coaches sell our philosophy, our program, our competence and character. We tell success stories about teams and players.

Sample size helps define how reliable data is. You win a game or have a winning streak of a few. That's great. But it's less powerful than winning league titles, sectional titles, or state championships.

Coach Scott Celli can tell players, "if you work hard, compete relentlessly, and keep your head on straight, you can earn a successful season." That's not embellishing or gamesmanship. It's truth.

After last season, a player such as Sabine doesn't need self-talk about 'starting over'. She can realistically say, "I need to continue to work on my attacking craft, closing the double block, reading the opposing offense, and improving my ability to set other front row players. Do all those things at a higher level and I can become an elite frontcourt force."

Learn to tell yourself and others great stories.
