Fall Back on Great Habits

James Clear's New York Times bestseller "Atomic Habits" is a classic. Great habits underlie better performance.

Positive habits create positive lives.

Key points from Clear:

  • Habits are votes for the type of people we want to be.
  • Make good habits easier and bad habits harder. If you want to work out, keep your workout gear available.
  • "Don't miss twice." If you miss a workout, make sure you do it the next day.
We're slightly dehydrated when we wake. Drink at least eight ounces of water first thing.

Reading creates advantage. What are you reading now? At the time I'm writing, I'm reading Stanley McChrystal's "On Character."

Adequate sleep creates competitive advantage for athletes.
