Historically, The Boston Herald provides the best high school sports coverage. The headline, "Newton North Eyes 3-peat" surprises nobody. They had Attleboro listed fourth, which doesn't make them a sleeper.
The Herald listed Westborough, Canton, Melrose, Duxbury, and Hopkinton as its top five in Division 2 (lightly edited)
"Georgia Tyrell, Samantha Norman, Montana Weaver, Teeghan Patch, Mia Grandin, Morgan Oberlee, Anna Goretti, Hailey Lenkauskas, Kathleen O’Reilly and Grace Hadley are coming back for Div. 2 state champion Westborough.
“As always we strive to play our best volleyball when it matters most,” said Westborough head coach Roger Anderson. “This year’s group will work hard, have fun, and focus on the process. Hopefully that leads us to some positive results.”
State finalist Canton retains Hockomock League All-Stars Erin Bigham (setter) and Soley Rodriguez Martinez (libero). Sally Hoban plays as an outside hitter.
Melrose will be led by senior setter Leah Fowke and junior middle hitter Sabine Wenzel."
