Teams give out awards for many achievements. One gives out a piece of tile floor weekly for the player who "polishes the floor" diving for balls.
We gave an award for the "Best Teammate" not to the MVP, but the player whom the girls VOTED as epitomizing team play. They always got it right even when there were multiple deserving players.
After two games, there's no award but one observation. The unsung hero, the person who has overachieved without recognition in the view of someone who buys ink by the barrel...is Ruth Breen.
