Develop your athletic explosion. Explosiveness to execute separates elite from excellent athletes. In baseball it's the "initial burst" of the stolen base. In football it's closing speed to catch or defend a pass. In volleyball it's getting to a ball to dig or jumping into the block.
Some athleticism is genetic but you can develop more - foot and ankle training, isometrics, sprinting, competition, weight training. Girls can jump.
