Every coach should teach this:

“Flush it.”
Bad play?
Tough moment?
Tough call?
Reset. Refocus. Respond.
The teams that reset the fastest…win the most.
Coach Scott Celli says, "Reset" defensively a lot during a match. Volleyball is a game of momentum, point to point, at different points in the set, and set to set.
The corollary is that teams want to maintain momentum when it's on their side and disrupt it when it is not.
Concentration, focus, the "power of now" is a superpower for some players and some teams. Coach Dave Smart says that the best teams "play harder for longer." That reflects the mental side of the game, the ability to stay "in the moment."
Every match is the sum of the points scored (by both teams) and allowed via errors of each team. One advantage of mindfulness training is the ability to improve focus, in children as young as six!
Make 'reset' part of your skill set.
Lagniappe. Numerous factors enter into playing time. It's not only about skill. A big factor, not emphasized here, is TRUST. Coaches want players they can trust to 'do the right thing' in the moment.
