"Hard" is the 'Weigh Station' on your destination to success. You climb so many steps.
- Skill development (camps, off-season teams, experience)
- Strategy (game understanding)
- Physicality (personal training, weight training, plyometrics)
- Resilience ("The Hard Stuff")
Becky Hammon said, "Being resilient is both a character trait and a learned skill. The tough part about being resilient is you can only develop this skill through going through hard stuff."

Resilience is the process of bouncing forward through adaptability, grit, and toughness. pic.twitter.com/tgHoiV4l0q
Redemption takes time. The 2009 team earned its Sectional Championship after having lost to future D1 powerhouse Central Catholic in 2007 and 2008. Melrose's Hannah Brickley and Colleen Hanscom both earned All-State honors and later Melrose High School Athletic Hall of Fame status. Hannah was the only MVB star to earn All-State recognition three times and the first MVB player to play in four consecutive sectional finals. Which is why I call her "the queen of Melrose volleyball."
Lagniappe. Using your head?
