“Are you going to let the little things slide or are you going to go do that extra little work to be great? Do you want to be great? Every day - be great. It’s not comparing yourself to anyone else, but maximizing what you are." -Andy Reid pic.twitter.com/O5sn62nXOY

Be great in your role. Whether you're in the starting lineup, encouraging teammates, setting up or cleaning up gear, be great.
Coaches see everything.
Years ago I coached Lauren, who didn't go to MHS. She wasn't a great athlete or a great player, but she contributed and did everything to be her best every day. Whatever we taught, she did to the best of her ability. She wasn't that tall (maybe 5'6") but was one of our best rebounders.
Her mother told me she carried the laminated "Pyramid of Success" to school in her gym bag every day.
Lauren became a three-sport captain in high school. I found out she wanted to go to the Naval Academy, so I wrote an unsolicited letter to our Congress person about her because I believed in her and sent Lauren's family a copy. Admission is tough because each representative can grant only TWO nominations to Annapolis. She got in.
Lauren graduated from the Naval Academy and is in Navy helicopter pilot training. Maximize what you are.
