After the game, the losing coach told the Melrose players, "you didn't deserve to win today." That remark fueled the rematch at the Roosevelt. Melrose won the opening set 25-3. Take down the trash talk with your play.
Melrose had five attackers with at least six kills at North, led by Elena Soukos (16) and Gia Vlajkovic with a career high eleven.
Emma Desmond had another productive evening with 32 assists.
During the 2012 State Championship run, Melrose's only defeat (3-2) came at the hands of Newton North. "History may not repeat, but sometimes it rhymes."
