Melrose won the pivotal tiebreaker set against Lexington Friday. Game tape (offline) illustrates key principles.
1) Melrose won (attacks, aces, blocks) 12 of their 15 points. That matters because good teams don't beat themselves. You have to beat them.
2) Attack points came from five different attackers (Sabine, Emme, Adriana, Ella, and Elise).
3) Three attackers (Sabine, Emme, Adriana) scored multiple kills in the frame.
4) Melrose scored two points on aces - Sadie and Gen.
5) The one downside was that Melrose had four service errors during the set.
A universal key in sports is to "do more of what works and less of what doesn't."
