"Great teammates and great team leaders answer these three questions every day. Breakdowns in communication occur when we fail to consistently ask, answer, and follow through on each. These questions are:
- What do I know?
- Who else needs to know it?
- Have I told them?"
From "The Program" by Kapitulik et al.
As Sadie Jaggers became an all-six positions player, she sought advice on passing from teammate Gia Vlajkovic. She wanted to know more. Gia suggested to focus on making good passes not great ones. As recently discussed, the setter often makes the defining pass.
Everyone needs to know that. As MVB rebuilds the back row, lessen pressure by adopting that approach. "Great is the enemy of good."
As defenders, have you heard and embraced that truth?
1) Know your job.
2) Simplify where possible.
3) Sweat the details.
