Friends, family, fans, and scouts come to watch you play. The latter come to assess the total player:
- Size
- Athleticism
- Skill
- Sport-specific IQ
- Effort
- Toughness/resilience
- Communication - verbal and nonverbal
- Interaction with coaches and teammates
- Treatment of officials
"Control what you can control." College coaches have enough headaches without acquiring yours. Aloofness, low energy, bigfooting teammates, poor body language, or abusing officials erase your opportunity. "Your actions speak so loudly I cannot hear a word you say."
Work on athleticism and skill while showing high character, sportsmanship and teamwork at all times. Intangibles matter.
