Game 16: Melrose 3 Watertown 0

Melrose (14-2) hosted a three-set 25-4, 25-11, and 25-12 victory over Watertown.

Twelve players registered kills, led by Sofia Centrella with eight. The starters played in only one set apiece and reserves responded more than capably. Kiki Kiernan had a good run at setter and Grace Sanderson showed skills at the net and some rocket serves.

Michael Useem's The Leadership Moment suggests four 'after action' questions.

1) What went well?
2) What went poorly?
3) What could we do better?
4) What are the enduring lessons?

Reserves contributed mightily and showed their anticipation of opportunities going forward. Autumn Whelan was solid wearing the white libero shirt.

When the biggest problem of the day was PA system failure during the pre-game introductions, you've had a good day.

The best players combine quality and consistent play. Few players can come in 'cold' and make plays immediately. Warriors coach Steve Kerr used to practice sitting on the bench and coming in to take three-point shots, excelling in his role. Consistency is critical going into tournament play.

20-20 vision. Coach Scott Celli constantly works to grow the team simultaneously for the present and the future. With seven seniors graduating including five rotation players, young players will reload in 2020.
