10 - 2. Melrose Tames Tanners 3 - 0

Melrose reached double digit wins with yesterday's road win at Woburn. 

The Lady Raiders earned a straight set victory. 

Victoria Crovo is making up for lost time and Lydia Lombardo ably added with nine kills. 

Lily Fitzgerald is within the top 20 of assist leaders. 

Woburn has upgraded their program and led 14-12 in set one before Melrose poured it on with a 13-4 run, including seven of the last nine points. 

The second set saw Woburn speed out to a 6-2 edge, but Melrose struck back to earn ties at 7, 8, and 9 before getting in front 11-9, not to trail again. Victoria Crovo was immense in this set with nine kills. From a 13-12 lead, Melrose closed out Woburn with a 12-5 finish. 

The Lady Raiders got off to a quick start in the third stanza, leading 7-3 (statistics courtesy of Dick Collis). Woburn pulled within one at 8-7, before another 8-1 run doubled up the Tanners. The hosts rallied back to 16-14 but Melrose then closed them out with a 

9-2 run.
