Here's an updated look at the Middlesex League statistics from an impeccable source. Let's look "inside the numbers"...click the table to get the full picture.

1) Against non-Middlesex League competition, the "bigs" are 8-11, and excluding Reading, 5-11

2) Against non-Middlesex League competition, the "smalls" are 12-7, and excluding Melrose, 8-7

3) Against non-Middlesex League opponents, the totality of the Middlesex League is 20-18, but excluding Melrose and Reading, only 13-18.

Melrose's gain comes from playing better competition. We need to hope for the interest in volleyball to expand and produce better competition within the league and more success for ML teams against non-league schools.
