Fastest guns in the North?
Melrose has developed a proud volleyball winning tradition. It all starts with community support, with well-attended athletic contests, two community newspapers reporting on the Lady Raiders, an outstanding local Cable TV franchise, MMTV, consistent leadership and coaching from Scott Celli and Steve Wall, and a core of players who attend camps and developmental league volleyball. They can do that only through the constant support of parents, the unsung heroes of the volleyball program.
Melrose expects to field a successful team, with four consecutive trips to the Division II North final, three championships, and a history of All-State players, All-Scholastics, North Shore League Players of the Year, and Middlesex League All-Stars.
The coaches and players encourage young Melrose athletes to learn volleyball and follow in their footsteps, and the coaches have developed a summer youth volleyball program getting players exposure at earlier ages.
Hannah Brickley and Gina Ciccone go up for the block. Hannah looks to get to her first Division II North title, while Gina looks to get back to the State Championship game.
