You will get opportunities at tryouts, in practice, in scrimmages, and eventually in games. 

Don't 'get ready' for opportunity. Be ready. Nobody gets an infinite amount of chances. 

Preparation leads to performance. And remember the achievement equation:

ACHIEVEMENT = Performance x Time
