Developing Your Philosophy

Volleyball season may seem far off. It's just around the corner. You can only be as good as you believe you are.

What does Voltaire mean? Of course, he means to tend our metaphorical garden - personal growth, relationships, careers, hobbies.

Think about that.

Where do you see yourself five months from now, five years from now, five decades from now? What are you doing to shape dreams into reality?

Craft your philosophy to stay on your desired path.

  • Be a great teammate to your family, classmates, team members.
  • "Always do your best." (The Fourth Agreement)
  • Believe in yourself. Setbacks are temporary.
  • "Look for the helpers." - Mr. Rogers
  • Commit to kindness even when others don't extend the same courtesy.

Lagniappe. As a basketball coach, I wanted players to get a lot of touches and shots (150+) every practice. Is volleyball similar?
