Easy Lessons: A MasterClass in MasterClass

Challenge yourself to learn each day. Coach Don Meyer kept three notebooks - one for basketball, one for general knowledge, and a gratitude notebook that he gave his wife at the end of each year.

MasterClass shares life lessons from leaders in many domains including writing, the arts and music, business, sport, and more.

What timeless lessons did those 'professors' share? Here are a few that work daily:

Actress Helen Mirren was asked what was necessary for success?

  • "Always be on time."
  • "Don't be an @$$#%&*."
Entrepreneur Sara Blakely advised:
     "Obsess the product."

Michelin three-star chef Thomas Keller shared:
"Cooks cook to nurture people." Whatever your domain, nurture.

Pulitzer Prize winning investigative journalist Bob Woodward explained:
"Find the best version of the truth." We never get the absolute             truth.

Actor Sam Jackson advised:
"Always bring your best version of yourself." It might not get you this  job but it might get you the next one.

Entertainer Usher encourages us:
"Study your mentors' mentors." For him, that meant James Brown and  Gene Kelly

Metallica band member James Hetfield explained:
"We do what is in the best interest of the project." Teamwork over ego
