For newer readers, in 2005 at Andover a top five team in Massachusetts, setter Amanda Hallett broke her shoelace. Reserve Taylor Pearson came in cold off the bench and Melrose won six of seven points until Amanda got back in. That is no myth. Taylor stepped up. Melrose upset Andover 3-2 in a signature win.
