In the cable broadcast of the recent Reading match, I referenced the performance of Jesse Owens at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. Some of our viewers may have never heard of Owens and what he accomplished under extreme pressure in a difficult time in history.
Owens' accomplishments at those games are summarized in this historical footage and inspirational video.
A brief shot of another great American track star,
Wilma Rudolph, is featured in this musical montage by Bomshel at about 2:09. Rudolph was crippled by childhood polio and became an Olympic champion.
Dream big, but make one extra play each set to fulfill those dreams.
