“Thanks, Coach!" A Parable

Sometimes we have to "try easier." There's the story of how to pick up a bird. Hold it too loosely and it flies away. Hold it too tightly and you can crush it.*

In running sports, some coaches teach athletes to run as though "holding a potato chip," as clenched hands don't add speed.

*Most birds have hollow bones to make flight possible. Penguins who "fly underwater" do not. Emus, ostriches, and the cassowary (a lethal bird), all flightless "ratites" have solid bones. (I was the only student in an Ornithology class in college.)
