The monks could bounce back from negative emotions faster.
Their amygdala (fear center) would activate normally, but return to baseline in seconds—not minutes or hours like most people.

Our minds are more powerful than we could ever imagine. Learning mindfulness and meditation has physiologic and psychological benefits. Here are just a few:
- Improved sleep
- Improved focus/attention
- Better classroom behavior
- Better grades
- Lower blood pressure
- Lower circulating stress hormones
- Even works for individuals with ADD/ADHD
