Melrose followed up the home opener with a three set road win against eleven time D3 state champion Frontier. Melrose won 25-23, 25-17, 25-11.
Melrose trailed 23-20 in the first frame but reeled off the final five points to win. The match went more smoothly from that point with comfortable margins in the final two stanzas.
Middle hitter Sabine Wenzel delivered 16 kills in a dominant performance and setter Leah Fowke forged an impressive four blocks. Sabine tallied four blocks and middle hitter Sofia Papatsoris had two.
Melrose travels to Reading (0-1) Monday for a Middlesex League road tilt @ 5:45 P.M. Reading lost its opener to a strong Burlington club.
