Gender Bias and Sport

You might call it "male privilege." Society doesn't see women and men as equals and women in sport often get devalued.

The only way we correct bias is to become conscious of it. If I say "sports star" and your mental picture is a football player, that's 'unconscious bias'.

Coaches help take local athletes where they cannot go alone. Players like Cecilia Kay leveraged size and athleticism with elite work ethic to achieve.

Be seen, be heard, and be valued.
