Melrose travels to Winchester Wednesday. The Red and Black have been the dominant Liberty Division team over the past decade and remain dangerous home or away.
Winchester comes off a 3-0 sweep of Reading that had played well recently. Winchester, like Melrose, lost 3-1 to Belmont, and was in position to win two of the sets they lost.
John Fleming has coached Winchester since 2010, piloting Winchester to three twenty win seasons plus an undefeated short season during the pandemic. Their previous five season Middlesex League record is 67-7.
Melrose and Winchester have split their past ten matches.
Melrose will respect Winchester as a formidable opponent.
