Setter Dumps

Find more ways to score... more efficient attacks, block-kills, service aces, and setter dumps. Let's focus on the latter.

Don't reinvent the wheel. Start with a review article and apply Feynman technique
  • Name it (setter dump)
  • Define it ("deceptive setter attack")
  • Research it (read the review article)
  • Simplify
Deception is key.
  • Can be either one or two-handed. Jump sets can lead to them.
  • Setter must be alert to open space.
  • Note the variation of "setover" where the setter sends a short set over the net into empty space.
Examples:

Brooke Bell with a two-handed setter dump away from the net.

Similar action.

Numerous examples.

If Melrose has more middle attacks this season, that 'might' create more opportunity for setter dumps as opponents concentrate on defending middles.
