"19 on the Red"

Human nature finds flaws over solutions. The MIAA Power Rankings system has critics, but I find it ingenious. 

Where does Melrose rank currently? Rhetorically, does it matter is another question. 

Division 1 - 10 teams rank higher than Melrose as of 10/14/22

Division 2 -  4 teams rank higher

Division 3 -  2 teams rank higher (Dennis-Yarmouth, Tewksbury)

Division 4 -  1 team ranks higher (Ipswich)

Division 5 -  1 team ranks higher (Frontier) 

Ergo, 19 on the red. 

What have we learned this season? 

• Melrose is playing its best volleyball, hardened by competition.
• Melrose played competitively against top teams across divisions.
• The seniors in particular have raised their game. 
• A signature win over Winchester can propel the team forward. 
• There is still opportunity for growth down the stretch. 
• Young players competing hard push veterans to hold their jobs.
