Cross-Posted: The Value of Resilience, "Foxhole Guys"

What matters most is what you do when you're not striking out. Yankee great Mickey Mantle struck out 1710 times during his career, leading the league in whiffing five times. He also had 536 homers, walked more than he struck out, was a 20 time All-Star, and was on seven World Series Champions.

Wayne Gretzky said, "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take."

Resilience matters. Excellent players and teams take lessons from defeat, as losses are teachers.

Be the foxhole guy, the person you want next to you when times are tough. Take the lessons from "Toughness" to the court.
