Many variables go into statistics. Number of opportunities, attack efficiency, opposition defense, luck, and other factors contribute.
Paradoxically, teams can score more kills against good teams that make fewer errors (e.g. service errors, poor serve receive).
Melrose increased their number of kills per set to 9 via better attacking. The number is artificially depressed by Arlington having more service errors.
The "M and M's" (Emma Randolph and Emily Hudson) combined for 19 kills, with Emma in double figures.
Setter Kiki Kiernan had eighteen assists as she grows into the position.
Nicole Abbott had a number of spectacular digs against Arlington's hard hitters.
Nicole also had a great day on the service line without any service errors and Mary Kate Mahoney had 17 of 18 serves in play. Leah Heafey had a good serving day without any service errors.
Melrose next faces undefeated Woburn at Woburn on Wednesday, September 12th.
